Back from another slump

First watch this video and tell me thats not cool!

Okay now that might seem a little weird for you laymen, but for the card workers out there, this is like an encyclopedia. So pull out your credit cards and hope you dont need to skip your mortgage loan to pay for this incredible gift from the gods. This set is just volume 1 and is PACKED with loads of stuff to learn. Even if you know a thing or two , this will return you to your roots and MAKE you want to MASTER those essential moves. Since this is a colossal DVD (almost 4 hours), I will take my time and make a video review of each move. Gotta get some good editing software! So let me start watching and I'll get back to you in a few days with a review! Take Care. Peace.

And so the Revolution continues...!

Hey there magic lovers and haters and mortals combined! I'm back with a review for Revolution Coin Vanish created by Kevin Parker. This review will be broken down just like the others, if your lost as to what Revolution is then go to my video from Friday, 27, 2008. If your just too lazy to scroll your ass down, then here is the Ellusionist trailer to this fabulous effect.

On to the Review:

Revolution Coin Magic
created by Kevin Parker
taught by Brad Christian

Effect: No better way for me to explain it so here is what Ellusionist says about this product:
"Ellusionist has raised the bar with this sleeveless, visual, both-hands-empty true vanish of a coin or any small object".

First Thoughts: When I first saw the effect, I was blown away! Seriously it was like Katrina just hit me in the face, thats how much I got blowed...woah too much info. I liked how it looked different from other coin vanishes and wasn't so fast, and went extremely slow which increased its beauty ten fold. It baffled top magicians as well as frying many laymen along the way.

Video Quality and Teaching: I got the download right away, because I'm really impatient when it comes to magic. Nothing new to say here, the download was quick and the quality of the video was "DVD-esque". Taught by Brad Christian who did a mighty fine job of explains the ins and outs of this illusion as well as some very useful tips. I thought for a thirty minute video, the people got a really simple and to the point explanation first, and then some psychological breakdown of the effect was thrown in too. Great teaching.

Method: Woohoo, was this method interesting. When the video finally got to the part about the method, I just laughed. You will too if you purchase this, because the vanish is THAT ingenious, that you'll never ever come near it. No gimmicks, completely impromptu, no devices of any sort just you, your two hands, and some magic. Alot of thought was clearly put into the method, as there are different versions of the effect taught. You are taught to use the Revolution as a utility move to do other types of things such as transpositions (die to coin), and also vanish other small objects.

Final Thoughts: I highly recommend getting this in your arsenal because this is in a league of its own. Revolution was properly named because this is a Revolution from typical fast paced coin vanishes. Thats not to say other coin vanishes are inferior but this effect takes a different approach and succeeds with flying colors. I couldn't go into more detail about what some things Brad goes over because they are borderline exposure. I think with the concept you will learn on the DVD or download, new ideas will definitley spring which is why you have seperate forum for this vanish. I hope you guys enjoyed that review. Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Its a Revolution!!!

Check Spelling
Hey world, hows it going? Magizzy here with a new vid, well its old but I haven't posted it on my blog or on the magic forums. It's another coin vanish (Don't worry I'll stop with these vanishes soon enough), and its called Revolution. This effect was created by Kevin Parker who did a fantastic job with it by the way. Since teaming up with Ellusionist, Parkers effect has really been one of the most wanted coin vanishes to date. Here's a clip of me performing this effect, Hope you guys and enjoy it and expect a review on this in a few days. Thanks for stopping by, Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Illegel Powdered Stuff

Hey guys hows it going? I just found some funny articles online and thought I'd share em with you.
Wow...what your going to read won't shock you but will make you question the kind of brains that exist in this world. Lets start with the story about two men who stole a secret formula. Not from KFC but from actually baby formula. You read that correctly, BABY FORMULA. These intelligent gentlemen planned on selling this formula and using the cash to buy good ole drugs, wait there not prescription drugs. Seriously, people have stooped so low as to sell things associated with life, love and happiness such as baby items? Now the next time you baby formula for your kid, ask yourself where the money is going to...These two smarties ended up getting a $500+ fine.
Speaking of smarties, you know the candy smarties? Its like little cylindrical packet of about 10 "pill" sized sweet candies. Guess what? A Middle School in Colorado is full of little buggers who instead of snorting this stuff in, blow it out of their noses. The point of this is to basically either compare it to other drugs, freak out your elders, or you're just stupid. The article goes on to say that this doesn't seem to be harmful but could cause maggots to form in the nostril or lung area. This school has had previous reports of this stuff with mentos and other shit. Clearly the education system in Colorado is suffering...Hope you enjoyed these stories, I'm gonna get me some smarties now...Take Care. Peace. -Magizzy

"Gone" but not Forgotten

Finally the long overdue review for the effect Gone created by Ryan Lowe. Overall I think this effect is strong considering it is a vanish, and with proper practice can look like real witchcraft! With some thought, I realized that this effect is practical because you can borrow a coin from the spectators. If you haven't seen the video of me doing the effect its HERE, and for those too lazy to click I embedded the actual DVD trailer :

On to the review:

Gone by Ryan Lowe

Effect: Obtain a coin, from your own collection or from a spectators and proceed to vanish it with a simple wave of the hand. This effect has been taught in detail by creator Ryan Lowe, with tips as well as other handling options.

First Thoughts: Before buying this effect, I was thinking of really elaborate methods to vanish the coin. I thought this was too good to be true, and completely dumbfounded when both sides of the hand were shown in the trailer. How could something just vanish into the air with a simple wave of the hand, and then you clearly show both sides of your hand with all fingers extended? Awesomeness.

DVD and Teaching: I thought the DVD quality was great and on par with those of Ellusionist, well not that on par but close. I thought Lowe explained the information well and taught clearly enough for me to understand. The DVD seemed short for me, as I wish he would have gotten more in detail but with the information provided you won't be clueless at all. You are also taught several variations of the trick with the same core principles as you move along. Being able to vanish from the side, the front, with hands far apart as you do a semi dance move like in the trailer.

Method: The method to this effect is absolutely gutsy in my opinion and that's what me me love it. For me at least, this method was a little out of the box because I never thought I could used certain tools in this manner. The gimmick, which you have to make yourself, will last you anywhere from 30-40 performances if handled with care or even longer. I won't go into detail about how easy the gimmicks are to find or all that extra bullshit, that people use to find out how the effect is done.

Final Thoughts: This effect is one that you can use as an opener and is definitely a nice way to get spectators "hooked." I learned from the method and teaching that you need to rethink how everything works. Meaning that whatever you accomplish with a certain object can be used to accomplish something different. I have looked through many things at home and tried to find different uses for them, and I have found two or three things that I think will help me create new effects. I hope you guys found this review helpful and thanks for stopping by. Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Hey world, I've just finished up a video that I think you guys will enjoy a lot. I babble a lot in the beginning of the video so I give you a warning to leave if you want :P , or to just forward :). So basically I talk about coats to sickness to coins and the number 10! The finale is the trick Gone created by Ryan Lowe, which I will be reviewing either tomorrow or over the weekend. Ahoy Matees!!!?

Hey everyone, still recovering since last Wednesday. Thats one nasty cough wouldn't ya say? I've been going to school lately and just wondering about what I'm going to do with this site. I guess things have been really slow during these past couple days due to my sickness, and I hope to get things moving again. I'm thinking about getting a netbook for about 300 buckaroos so that way I'll be able to update more frequently.
Today I read something in the news that scared the crappers out of me, mainly because I've never seen anything like it before. In Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia there was a Huge Sandstorm that looked like it ate up the city! The pictures on the site look amazingly cool but at the same time you feel bad for all the people that were choking. Imagine for hours and hours your just coughing your ass off, what a horrible way to die. Thank god they had an awareness program going, so there were no incidents.Check out the photos and tell me what you guys think! I'll hopefully have a new magic video up tomorrow so keep an eye out for that. Oh btw the rights to this paper go to dailymail.com, so check out that site too if you guys want some interesting news!
Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Coin magic is contagious!

Jeez la weez I don't know what I caught or from whom (I'll get you later), but I have been bed ridden for the past 3 days. I'm trying to recover and lets see how long that takes me, wish me luck world! So today I caught a glimpse of the special edition of 20/20 with Siegfried and Roy who did a 10 minute act after about 5 and 1/2 years. Roy had gotten in a terrible accident about 5.5( yea im switching it up 5 point 5) years ago with one of the tigers who bit him in the neck. Blood splattered over Siegfried and the show ended ubruptly and Roy became paralyzed on one side of his body. After about 5+ years he is now recovering against all odds and is able to speak and walk slowly with his long time partner and best friend Siegfried by his side. They perfomed one last time and the 12 million dollars they made for that 10 minute show all went to the brain center. It was really inspirational to see Roy and Siegfried up after what felt like centuries to many, and to see them do the tiger and human transpo like nothing ever happened was just amazing. Well I recorded this video at the beginning of this post the same day of the welcome video, just as a back up if I didn't feel well and I'm gonna use it. I did some edits on it and tell me what you guys think. It's a coin trick that I put together, basically by combining elements from Justin Miller and David Stone, you get this baby... Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Thoughts are unlimited but my brain is limiting me from reaching there...

Hey there world, I hope that you've noticed the new welcome video thats to the right of my blog postings. Check that out for now, I'm thinking about turning that section into video of the week. Or I might just make a new section for videos all together that I will post once or a twice a week. I hope you enjoyed that video but I do want to change it into a better Introduction video and explain what the site has to offer as the days go by and I hopefully build more content. I'm going to try and put some more effort into this blog, because as some of you know the first stages are the hardest. I'll try to upload some interesting videos, you can expect them to be random at times because I'm random at times :P I'm basically looking around and trying to figure out what types of gadgets and accessories will be of use to you guys. Until Next Post. Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy

Snowed In

Hello world, today I was snowed in!!! Well not really but the super who is supposed to shovel didn't do it until around night time so I didn't even bother going out. I looked out the window a bunch of times today and saw some kids fall, but the sad part is my camera didn't have charge...By the time I got it charged, it became dark and besides Heroes was on today! I practiced my magic today, well mostly my sleights such as the charlier, one handed charlier, some XCM moves such as sybils and the W.E.R.M. from the Dan & Dave's DVD. I was so bored that I did everything except clean my closet and my shelf. I didnt take a pic of my closet but my shelf, looks like I just moved in today...LoL Take Care world. Peace - Magizzy

Sunday not Funday

This weekend was really fast, like they all are. I didn't do much except alot of things. This weekend the tutorial was full of kids due to the fact that most of them have some Math exam coming up. Some kids even decided to start doing their science projects at a tutorial, which is not where science projects should be done, with all these kids coming and going, it wastes space. I might start creating another site with my friend soon about Old Man Jenkins and you'll finally get to see who X is, or least be able to hear his voice...haha I'm starting to look for good webcams with audio availability so I can start my video logs for the week. Since I'm starting off, I'll talk about weird news and other topics I hear or read about and stuff that just interests me. Maybe I'll post my video tomorrow, if I can get the audio to work on the camera. Take Care World. Peace. - Magizzy

Weekend full of Mischief and Hard Work

Hey world, just posting for this Saturday and gonna talk about the mischief that I've been up to for the past ...um 3 weeks? Well there is a kid that comes the tutoring center I teach @, for now we will call him X. He is in the 10th grade and goes to highschool and is a very...peculiar boy with one characteristic that makes him malleable: He's gullible! So there is an old man that lives across the street from the tutorial that we call Old Man Jenkins (for reasons I don't know just sounded cool haha), and that he brings out garbage bags and fills them with bodies. Well at least we tell the kids it bodies, until one kid erm...teenager believes that story is real. I'll have to explain in detail what we have convinced this boy of and the "missions" he has to pull off to make Old Man Jenkins satisfied to say the least. Besides that, work was fine slow for me even though about 30 kids came in today. Take care for now, Peace. -Magizzy

I'm Loopy!! Maybe not... :P

Good Evening World! Today I feel like reviewing a product that I haven't used in a while. It's called Loops and they were invented by Yigal Mesika. Why did I start to play with my Loops again? Well simply because Yigal is bringing out a new effect/prop called the tarantula and his name reminded me of the last Loop I had left on my shelf. If you have no idea what a Loop is, don't worry. I have a video right here and maybe it will explain everything to you.

Ha ha, your still probably lost as to what a Loop is, but thats fine. This is just a review on that prop that allows magicians to amaze. It has truly revolutionized what is meant by simple and hard hitting magic. It's almost like having real powers, which is better than belting out 8 babies at a time...:) Enjoy Peace.

The Effects

Mr. Kranzo gives us the benefit of viewing how these effects look when performed and more importantly, how much impact these effects have on spectators. There were several effects which he showed on the DVD and they include:

The Haunted Pack
- this effect, I find is the most powerful of the ones taught on the DVD. If you don't know the description it goes something like: You BORROW or use your own deck and are able to had it out for examination, afterwards you ask a spectator to select any card out of freewill and ask them promptly to not let you know the identity of the card. The card is inserted back, and the deck is squared up and positioned on the ground or table, or flat surface (could also be the spectators hand). With a magical wiggling of the fingers, the deck cuts itself to find the selected card, and if that wasn't enough with a clap of your hands you cause the card to literally jump out of the deck.

Spirit Forces- this effect, I feel lends it self to the Haunted Pack. You ask the spectator to again select any card that he/she wants and memorize it. You then start to cut off little packets and ask them to control where they want the card to be, and you keep cutting little packets until you've run out (Duh! ha ha). You spread the cards on the floor, table, etc and borrow a knife(suggested on DVD) or you could use a sharpie marker like Mr. Kranzo. You then do your magical wiggling of the fingers and cause the knife/marker to roll and stop at the exact location of their selected card.

Possessed Band-
this effect, lends it self to those lovely little rubber band effects that we all know and love. In the DVD, I think Mr. Kranzo did the Crazy Man handcuffs followed by the Possessed Band. Whether you accompany this with another effect or do it as a solo effect, you will get some great reactions. You hand out a rubber band for examination and rub your finger on it, soon it gets stuck on your finger. At which point you show your hands and the spectators realize that the bad is actually being suspended in mid-air. Total shocker, because it catches people off guard when they see it stuck on your finger, but when the mid-air suspension takes place, they go nuts.

Out Flow
-
this effect, is ideal for walk around magic. You go to a restaurant or a place where matchboxes are available. You dump out the contents to show there is nothing fishy about the box or the matches. After the spectators are satisfied, you can go ahead and put the matches back in the box and pause a beat. You then claim that matches are explosive so if you clap your hands they will explode. You do so, and the matches are flying all over the place, and you are left there with a baffled spectator.

Explanations and Tips

I have to say that Mr. Kranzo goes over every thing that you need to know to protect yourself during performances. The explanations of the effects are given at just the right speed and explained several times for your convenience. For those who cannot visualize what is going on with the Loops, Mr. Kranzo uses something else to demonstrate the positioning and handling of the loops. Overall his explanations were easy to understand and follow and he made sure he got straight to the point. The tips where scattered throughout the DVD but there is one section dealing with your positioning and lighting situations. Which was a great help to me, because know I do not have to keep the spectators at a distance and can perform it close-up in some situations. His tip for longevity of the Loops life was extremely helpful and a technique that is very original. Even though I've had much experience with Loops, there was alot of things I learned and now I even have some new effects to boot. So should you get this DVD? Heeeeeeeeeeeeavens YES! I believe everyone can learn something or another for the DVD, and that it won't sit on your shelf after a while. I definitely will be going back to Mr. Kranzos performances to see how I can change my own and see what he is doing that I'm not, etc. Great DVD,I plan on getting more of Kranzo's works.Take Care. Peace.

Friday! Wooo!

Hey world, finally its friday! Time to relax, well at least I get to start earlier than everyone else I have off today (suckaz!). So I just wanted to tell you guys about some weird news I heard over the past week: The links to the following pages at the end of this post, if you'd like to know more about it just click it. I'm just giving my opinion on these stories, and if you guys would like to leave your comments, it would be greatly appreciated :).

-Farm Smell Law-
This story talks about farms, now having to control the odor because it is a disturbance. Wait, so your telling me that farms, have to try and not smell like farms? Thats like asking a homeless guy to not ask money that he can use to buy drugs. Okay its nothing like that, but you get the point. I personally think this law is a waste of time, I mean trying to control a smell in a place that was meant to stink no matter how much u clean. WASTE OF TIME.

-Octomom's Dad Losing It-
We've all heard of octomom, the latest superhero that doesnt do nething except create babies in multiples of 8. Well her dad actually went on the Oprah show to whine about how the media is forcing themselves onto their familys business. So this guy figures that buy going on television, he should complain about how television is intruding in their lives... nice moves gramps. They also go into a little analysis of Nadya (octomoms) photo, and discuss how you can tell she has planned this exploitation out the whole time. Sad, stupid, not super heroic at all.

$100 Dollar Bill Switch

Hey world, I thought I'd start this blogfest off with the $100 Dollar Bill Switch invented by Vladimir Vladimirov . It's basically an effect in which you show a $1 bill and change it to, yup you guessed it a $100 bill! First lets watch the video, so you get a better idea of what the effect looks like. Enjoy!

Now, I know I look cheesy and every time I watch this video I get the chills lol. I wasn't drunk or on medication, which scares me because thats my normal behavior :). All I need is the scar on my mouth and white powder on my face to get that Joker look.
So the bill switch has been around for ages and was invented in such a way that makes it look very magical. The handling on the effect is a bit iffy at first, but with proper practice it will look flawless. There are some benefits to this effect as it is semi impromptu(meaning it can be done with spectators bill but with a little bit of setup). The cons to this, or I should say only con(if you can call it that), is the fact that the bill is small when chagned. I would prefer the bill to b e in full size view or even half size view while doing the change. All in all this is an awesome old school change that has many applications and the plus side is, it gives your cards a rest! Tc. Until next time. Peace - Magizzy

Back on the horse...

Hey world, I realized that I haven't posted in a long time, a really long time and decided to get back into the blogging world. I'm going to try and change the perspective of this site, by talking about whacky news topics, people, celebs, and of course magic. Magic will be a regular thing and I hope if you guys have any questions and comments that you'll just spend a few seconds to leave them on my page. I'm going to update everyday at least once a day when I can and I will also be making video blogs about once or twice a week. If you have topic you wanna discuss and want me to talk about, just leave a comment on the chatt box or leave a coment on this post. Thanks in advance to everyone, Take Care. Peace. - Magizzy
